Toi Huarewa was commissioned by NZTrio in 2014 and written in collaboration with Horomona Horo, who performs Taonga Puoro – traditional Maori instruments, and Tim Worrall who provided guidance and knowledge.
Field Punishment No. 1 is a soundtrack composed for a New Zealand film about Arhcibald Baxter’s experience as a conscientious objector during World War 1.
Love Will Come Round is a song I wrote for my beloved band, the Bellbirds – with Sandy Mill, Sean Donnelly and Don McGlashan, legends and heroes, every one. This performance was recorded live at the Taupo Arts Festival.

Homai o Ringa is a remix & arrangement of a waiata by Hirini Melbourne. Hirini’s original, unaccompanied version of this waiata featured on the seminal album of traditional Maori music, ‘Te Ku Te Whe’. This version was released on the album ‘Te Whaiao’ which is a remixed version of ‘Te Ku Te Whe’. This arrangement features original recordings of Taonga Puoro (traditional Maori instruments) performed by Hirini Melbourne and Richard Nunns. Both albums were released by Rattle Records and are available on iTunes.
Under The Mountain is the soundtrack to a film adaptation of Maurice Gee’s iconic book of the same name. The film was directed by Jonathan King and the soundtrack was performed by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, The full soundtrack was released by Moviescore Media and is available for purchase on iTunes.
Landscape Prelude (also called ‘Goodnight Kiwi’) is part of a series of 12 Landscape Preludes by New Zealand composers that was commissioned by Stephen de Pledge in 2003. He performs it here.
